I never managed to get DisplayPort working, but HDMI did work on one really old Mac Mini (from around 2009).Ĭan you tell me if this is a hardware issue with the monitor, or is it possible that there is a huge incompatibility with all of these devices? I've used my mac to connect to bunch of projectors, TV sets and other monitors (including a 23" Dell monitor at work), and each time it worked flawlessly.

Average custom built PC (average Intel graphic card), Windows 7 I am running a MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014) and for now only getting 1920 x 1080 displayed through mDV to HDMI, as I too got a black screen on my recent purchased Dell U2719DC, when connecting through mDP to DP. When connected through HDMI everything else (close lid etc) works perfectly. The HDMI 2.0 port on your Mac Pro also supports video. Connect a USB-C display: Connect the display to a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port on your MacBook Pro. I first thought it was the HDMI cable so I bought a new one, no effect. Connect an HDMI display or HDTV: Use a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter to connect the HDMI display or HDTV to a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port on your MacBook Pro. 1) HDMI If I attach the monitor through HDMI I only get a resolution of 2048 x 1152. Connect Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter,to Macbook then HDMI cord to external display.
